As conflict continues to ravage Sudan, children are bearing the heaviest burden. More than 4 million children have been displaced, and over 14 million children are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
UNICEF is on the ground providing life-saving aid, including clean water, nutrition, education and protection services. Since the start of the conflict, UNICEF has delivered over 10,000 metric tonnes of supplies to Sudan, reaching millions of children and families.
"The children of Sudan have endured unimaginable suffering," said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. "We must not fail them. UNICEF is committed to reaching every child in need, but we cannot do it without the support of the international community."
UNICEF is calling for an immediate ceasefire and unrestricted humanitarian access to reach all children in need. The organization is also working to provide psychosocial support to children who have experienced violence and trauma.
